Kathmandu, Dec 24: Minister for Energy, Physical Infrastructure and Transport
as well as Urban Development, Kul Man Ghising, has presented 101 achievements
made in a period of 100 days since he assumed the office.
At a press meet organized at the Ministry of
Physical Infrastructure to make public the works performed in the last 100 days,
Minister Ghising highlighted as works the solution to problems related to landfill
site at Banchare Danda which used to cause chaos in the capital, removal of obstacles
to bring Melamchi water in Kathmandu, resumption of Tatopani border with China by
opening Tatopani-Kodari road section, making mobility easy through BP highway by
prompt repair of the road that was damaged due to monsoon rains.
Determining modality of the Budhigandaki hydropower
project and sending that to Finance Ministry for consent, preparation of
financial modality of Upper Arun Hydropower project, export of electricity to
India and Bangladesh worth Rs. 19 billion are also included in the 101
achievements of Minister Ghising.
On Physical infrastructure, loan agreement of 34
billion 490 million Japanese Yen with Japan to upgrade Koteshor intersection,
termination of 40 sick construction tenders and processes to terminate many
more so as to expedite projects are also mentioned as the work performance.
On the occasion, Minister Ghising said that he has
not compromised on good governance and transparency.
The Minister said that the property details of the
members of Cabinet have been submitted within 2 and half months of the government
formation as per the rule and it was up to the Prime Minister's office whether
to make them public or not.
"As the public servant, I have been submitting
property details yearly for last 30 years, and this time as the Minster, I have
already done so in time," said Minister Ghising.
Minister Ghising said he would not backtrack from
politics, and added that all new forces will take part in election as a unified
force and processes for this have already begun.
