ISLAMABAD, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) : Nine terrorists were killed in two intelligence-based operations in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, four terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire in Dera Ismail Khan district. Five others were neutralized in a separate operation in the Bannu district. Both operations were conducted on Dec. 19.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were involved in attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians, the statement said.
Clearance operations are being conducted to eliminate the remaining terrorists in the area, the ISPR added.
