Kathmandu, Dec 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has said that the unique nature and the heritages of historical importance should be preserved and promoted.
After an inspection visit to the Patan Durbar Square on Saturday, Minister Kharel assured to prioritize preservation and promotion efforts of the cultural heritages of Lalitpur, which he termed a supreme site of ancient heritages, arts and cultures.
"Nepal should be promoted in the world through the preservation of our historical and traditional arts and cultures. The cultural heritages and food cultures of Lalitpur should be internationalized," Minister Kharel added.
Saying that different ethnic communities, languages, cultures and heritages are our unique identities, Minister Kharel pointed out the need for unity among all for the protection and promotion of Lalitpur city's cultural heritages.
Likewise, he called for collaboration among the federal, province and local governments for the overall development of Lalitpur along with the preservation of tangible and intangible heritages.
On the occasion, Minister Kharel also visited Krishna Mandir and Patan Durbar Museum.
At the museum, Minister Kharel observed the Craft and Cultural Festival, where different traditional entities have been put on display depicting the traditional arts and cultures. (RSS)
