By TRN Online, Sarlahi, Dec 6: World Soil Day 2025 was observed in Sarlahi district with a significant plantation event held under the nationwide “1 Million Trees Plantation and Conservation Initiative.”
The program held on Friday was jointly organized by Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF), Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited, and Chandranagar Rural Municipality.
Chairman of Chandranagar Rural Municipality Raj Kumar Mahato, Chief District Officer of Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited, and Basu Gautam, Founder of Lumbini World Peace Forum and the visionary behind the “1 Million Trees Plantation and Conservation” initiative, jointly launched the campaign, according to the press note issued by the Initiative.
As part of the first phase in Sarlahi, 1,750 Moringa (Sajivani) saplings were planted at Shree Durga Khonbhari Janata Secondary School in Chandranagar–2. The event highlighted the importance of healthy soil, climate resilience, and the role of long-term tree plantation in ecosystem restoration.
The program saw active participation from community leaders, school representatives, and local residents, reflecting strong community commitment to environmental conservation.
Organizers emphasized that additional plantation activities will continue across various wards of Chandranagar Rural Municipality as part of the broader goal of planting and protecting one million trees across Nepal.
