Kathmandu, Dec 6: Faf du Plessis of Biratnagar Kings has completed a record half-century in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League.
He scored a half-century off 19 balls against Sudurpaschim Royals. He became the player to hit a quick half-century.
Earlier, Bhim Sarki from Kathmandu Gorkhas had also completed a half-century against Pokhara Avengers in just 19 balls.
Foreign player Harmit Singh, who joined Sudurpaschim Royals this season, had also scored a half-century off 19 balls against Kathmandu.
Previously, last season, Jimmy Neesham of Janakpur Bolts holds the record for scoring a half-century in just 18 balls.
Number of half-century reaches 33 in NPL
The number of half-centuries in the ongoing second edition of NPL in the capital has reached 33 so far.
Sam Hazzlett of Biratnagar Kings hit the 33rd half-century today against Sudurpashchim Royals. Twenty-nine players have scored this many half-centuries.
In the ongoing second season of NPL, Ravi Bopara of Chitwan Rhinos has scored three half-centuries, while Kushal Bhurtel of Pokhara Avengers and Priyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks have scored two half-centuries each.
Only Mark Watt of Karnali and Adam Rossington of Pokhara have scored centuries in the ongoing tournament.(RSS)
