By Anil Parajuli, Hetauda, Dec 6: Demolition of encroached houses and shacks in the main market area of Hetauda has begun.
Road Division Office, Hetauda, started road expansion on Saturday morning.
Work is underway to demolish encroached permanent and temporary structures within 25/25 yards on both sides of the highway.
The division office has demolished houses in the Buddha Chowk to Sumargi Complex area using about 8 dozers and excavators.
The Road Division Office, Hetauda, under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, issued a public notice on November 20, giving a 15-day ultimatum to remove the permanent and temporary houses and huts built within 25/25 yards from the center line of the Mahendra Highway and Tribhuvan Highway within the Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City area.
Along with this, work is also underway to demolish encroached houses and huts in the Buddha Chowk to Chaukitol area.
