By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 20: Rishi Lamichhane, a film director, has been elected as the president of the International Nepalese Artist Society INAS, Nepal Chapter.
The second convention of the Nepal Chapter, held on Tuesday in the capital, elected a 17-member new executive committee under Lamichhane’s leadership.
Ramesh Upreti, Rejina Upreti, and singer Yuvraj Chaulagain were elected as vice presidents.
Film production controller Shankar Pandey was elected as the general secretary, and Rajin Paneru as the secretary. Film distributor Ratna Shrestha was elected as the treasurer.
The elected members include Khuman Adhikari, Eleena Chauhan, Purna Bahadur Lama, Dinesh Kafle, Priyanka Prasain, Gautam Manandhar, Sahara Pandey, Deepa Regmi Panta, Ritu Kandel, and Shivam Adhikari. Advocate Semantamani Kheral served as the chief election commissioner.
The event was presided over by Daya Ram Pandey, outgoing president of INAS Nepal Chapter and also the Asia coordinator. The chief guest of the programme was INAS Global President Arjun Prasad Kafle.
President Kafle said that the organisation will continue contributing to the promotion of Nepali arts through its worldwide network.
He said that during his tenure, the organisation will initiate efforts for the development and promotion of various fields, including art, literature, culture, language, and sports.
