Greatest joy is to be happy even in sorrow: Communications Minister Kharel

Kathmandu, Nov 9: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has expressed the view that if people could be happy even in sorrow and struggles in their lives, they become happier and their lives become easier most of the time. 

At a programme, "Self-Awakening in Dialogue and Communication:  Awakening to Happiness, Peace and Prosperity" organised by Press Council Nepal at collaboration with Jeevan Vigyan at Sanchargram today, Minister Kharel shared that the greatest happiness is to be happy even in sorrow. 

He expressed the view that the mental peace would remain long lasting if we accept challenges and difficulties in our lives with self-satisfaction and positive thinking. 

Sharing his experience that he has now been holding the post of minister after being active in journalism sector for long, the Communications Minister opined that he has no enough time to keep in touch with old friends and tension has increased due to pressure of work after assuming the post of minister. 

Similarly, spiritual teacher of Jeevan Vigyan, LP Bhanu expressed concern over mental health problem increasing in Nepal in recent period. 

Failing to seek happiness within themselves by people is the main reason behind increasing cases of suicide and mental stress, he stressed. 

Bhanu stressed that the practice of Jeevan Vigyan encourage people towards self-realization, meditation and self-reflection, which help play a significant role to maintain mental balance and reduce suicide cases. 

Likewise, Press Council Nepal member Padam Raj Joshi happiness is the most important part of the life and stressed that every person must learn to feel happiness within themselves. 

Secretary at the Communications Ministry, Radhika Aryal, Chairperson of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nirmala Sharma, media persons, representatives of the bodies concerned among others were present on the occasion. (RSS)
