Takeoff and landing of planes resumed at TIA

blog

Kathmandu, Nov 8: Flights that were suspended due to a technical problem in the 'runway lighting' system at Tribhuvan International Airport are now operating.

TIA General Manager Hansaraj Pandey informed Rastriya Samachar Samiti that flights, which were suspended after 5:30 this evening due to a problem with the runway's airfield lighting system, are now operating normally.

He said, "After a problem occurred in the runway's airfield lighting system, flights were suspended for a few hours. Now, having activated the lighting system using alternative technology, the suspended flights have resumed."

With the resumption of flights, planes of Nepal Airlines that were 'on hold' in the sky have landed, and other diverted aircraft have started to arrive, said General Manager Pandey.(RSS)
