Kathmandu, Nov 8: Nationwide collection of voter lists for the upcoming House of Representatives election is ongoing.
Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, said that the collection of the voter list has been progressing encouragingly recently.
The voter roll will be collected by November 16. The election for the House of Representatives is taking place on March 5, 2026.
Only those voters whose names are registered in the voter list for that election and who will turn 18 by March 4, 2026 will be eligible to vote.
According to the EC, all Nepali citizens who will have reached the age of 18 by that date and have obtained a citizenship certificate are being requested again to register their names in the voter list by November 16.
The Election Commission has stated that due to higher participation in voter registration, the voter registration server has been under heavy load, and complaints have been received from service users facing difficulty to access services.
After the completion of the House of Representatives elections, as in the past, all Nepali citizens who have reached the age of 16 and obtained a citizenship certificate will be able to register their names in the voter list.(RSS)
