Investor morale down since the Gen-Z movement: Governor Poudel

blog

Kathmandu, Nov 5: Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Bishwanath Poudel has said that investors' morale has weakened since the September 8 and 9 Gen-Z movement in the country.

At an interaction hosted by the Citizen Initiative on Wednesday, he said that for the past two years there was a situation where investment was not expanding even though there was enough money at hand. Given the situation, the Gen-Z movement has created more problems.

On the occasion, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that attacks on private and government structures took place because the movement turned violent through outside infiltration.

CPN (UML) Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali stressed that parties should focus on system-oriented reforms rather than individual-oriented ones.

Nepali Congress leader Pradeep Poudel said that the Nepali Congress party should take responsibility as it was in government at the time of the movement.

Attorney General Sabita Bhandari said that the political situation after the uprising is both an opportunity and a challenge for the government.(RSS)
