Kathmandu, Nov 5: Prime Minister Sushila Karki and former President Ram Baran Yadav held a meeting today.
During the meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar, they discussed the preparation of coming elections and political environment, said PM Karki's Press coordinator Ram Bahadur Rawal.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki said she is willing to handover the power to people-elected government by maintaining good governance in the country in accordance with the aspiration of Gen-Z protest.
Similarly, former President Yadav expressed the view that all political parties should go for election. He lauded the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Karki on the behalf of the government about the preparation for the election and discussion with different sides.
The former President said, "Political parties should go for election. Election is the best way to take the country in democratic system. The discussion held with all bodies concerned regarding election preparation has created positive environment. The government should also talk with civil society and the civil society should encourage the political parties to go for election."
Yadav also shared his experience that how the election was possible during the then Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led government in 2070 BS as well as talked about security situation and geo-political scenario at that time.
He shared that he was confident that political parties would take part in the election scheduled for March 5 as they understand the importance of election.(RSS)
