Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has inaugurated free
internet service at the New Bus in Gongabu.
On the occasion, he said that free internet services
has been provided at 19 public places in the Kathmandu Valley as pledged while
he assumed the office as the CIT Minister.
"We have started free internet services at public places as the commitment I made while assuming the office as the Minister. We are expanding this service to places out of the Valley," said the Minister speaking at the inauguration.
"The government is focused on the expansion of internet facility in remote areas well." As he said, Darchula, Bajhang, Jajarkot and Tilicho Base Camp in Manang have already have access to internet and improving its quality in Solukhumbu, Ramechhap, Rautahat, Myagadi, and Baitadi is the government priority.
Secretary at the Ministry, Radhika Aryal, Nepal Telecommunications Authority Chair Bhupendra Bhandari were among those present on the occasion.
