Dolakha, Nov 4: Five persons, who were injured in an avalanche occurred at Rolwaling area, have been rescued today.
Two foreigners and three Nepalis have been rescued by a helicopter and seven people are still missing in the avalanche.
Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Risal said they were rescued from base camp of Yalung Ri peak. Other three Nepali guides, who managed to escape the avalanche, have been kept safely at Na Gaun (village).
Fifteen climbers including five foreigners had reached base camp through two travel agencies for the expedition to Dolma Khan and Yalung Ri peaks. The avalanche occurred on Monday morning at the place where they were staying.
Three people including a foreigner died after they were buried in the avalanche. Condition of the missing people is unknown. A team of security personnel comprising Nepali Army has gone to Na Gaun for the rescue, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gyan Kumar Mahato. (RSS)
