Kathmandu, Oct 25: The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged one and all to seek solution to any demands through talks and dialogue.
The Ministry's Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Ananda Kafle said that the Home Ministry's serious attention was drawn to various individuals and groups publicly announcing protest programmes such as sit-ins, rallies, and demonstrations through social media, and made it clear the government is serious about addressing the legitimate demands, concerns, and interests of all.
"All are sincerely requested to seek a lawful resolution to any demands through dialogue and discussions, without holding such sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, or movements," Kafle has said in a statement he issued today.
Recalling that the current government, formed after the protest led by the Gen-Z, is actively working towards creating a conducive environment for the election scheduled for March 5, 2026, Ministry spokesperson Kafle stated that the government is accordingly amending election-related laws, managing resources and facilities, and engaging in discussions and dialogues with political parties and concerned stakeholders.
He stressed that everyone's role is important and indispensable in maintaining peace and security in the country and conducting elections on the announced date in a free, fair and fear-free environment, and that cooperation and coordination are necessary according to their respective roles and responsibilities.
"After the demonstrations on September 8 and 9, along with the resumption of public services, the reconstruction process of damaged structures has begun, and as the state of law and order normalises, the government is creating an election-focused environment," reads the press release the Home Ministry issued today.
The Ministry has expressed serious concern regarding the public announcement of programmes such as sit-ins, rallies, and protests in the names of various individuals and groups through social media.
The ministry has drawn attention to the fact that organisers should also be cautious as groups with vested interest attempting to cause instability in the country could infiltrate such programmes to create unrest and disorder.
It has also requested everyone to contribute to promoting national interests while maintaining communal harmony in the country, without hindering public security and national security, and ensuring that rights such as living peacefully, accessing uninterrupted public services, and participating in elections are not suppressed while raising their demands.(RSS)
