Darchula jeep accident: Vehicle owner dies, search underway for driver

By Lokendra Prasad Joshi, Darchula, Oct 24: One person died when a jeep met with an accident in Danikhet, Marma Rural Municipality-3, Darchula.

A jeep (S.P.Province 01 001 Ja 1662) met with an accident in Danikhet while going from Latinath to Sarsi on Friday morning. 

Ward Chair Dhirendra Dhami said that 34 year old Karbir Singh Thagunna of Marma, the owner of the car, was found unconscious in the middle seat of the car and was rescued and sent to a health post.

According to police, the vehicle skidded off about 200 meters off the road. 

Meanwhile, locals said that Thagunna, who was found unconscious, was already dead.

 Police said that it is not yet clear who was driving the jeep and how the accident occurred.

Sub Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Latinath, Jang Bahadur Chand said that a search for a driver and further investigation into the accident is underway.
