By Prabin Kumar Sharama, Rautahat, Oct.22: A passenger bus has caught fire near West Lachka, Chandrapur Municipality-4, Rautahat, on Wednesday morning.
According to the Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur, the bus (Province 2-03-001 Kha 5555) en route from Kathmandu to Chandrapur caught fire due to a short circuit in the battery wire, resulting in the bus being gutted in the fire.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur, Rupa Ambung, the fire, which broke out at 7:20 AM, was brought under control at 8:15 AM.
The joint effort of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Traffic Police brought the fire on the bus under control with the help of fire engines.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ambung said that there were no casualties in the fire.
