Kathmandu, Oct.18: Nepal Police have arrested two Indian nationals involved in kidnapping and holding a person hostage.
A team from the District Police Range has arrested 24-year-old Parampreet Singh and 28-year-old Labaprit Singh, both from Punjab, India, for their involvement in the crime of kidnapping and holding a person hostage.
A team from the District Police Range, Kathmandu, apprehended them for allegedly holding a 26-year-old man from Haryana, India, hostage under the false promise of sending him to Australia.
According to Range Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, police acted on a tip-off that the suspects had locked the victim in a hotel room number 6 in Sundhara and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 million for his release.
Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the investigation is ongoing after the Kathmandu District Court extended their remand by seven days.
Four mobile phones of different companies have also been recovered from them. (Translated from RSS Nepali)
