By Anil Parajuli, Hetauda, Oct.14: A house fire broke out after a mobile phone left on charge exploded in Raksirang Rural Municipality, Makawanpur.
A fire broke out at the house of Sher Bahadur Praja in Jyanjuwang, Raksirang Rural Municipality-7, on Monday afternoon when the mobile phone battery exploded while charging it on a solar battery.
According to the Bagmati Provincial Police Office, a mobile phone battery exploded and set fire to a chair. The fire spread to a thatched house with a zinc roof made of stone and clay, completely destroying the house and the belongings inside, including food, clothes, and other items.
A 26-year-old suffered burns to his right ear and neck while trying to obtain citizenship when the incident occurred. The injured is receiving home treatment. The fire was brought under control with the help of locals.
The exact details of the damage caused by the fire are yet to be ascertained.
Makawanpur Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati said that police from Kandrang Police Station are being mobilized to collect more information as the location of the incident is remote.
