Kathmandu, Oct 13: Nepal is to face Qatar in the match to be held today under Super Six of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier. The match is to be held in Al Amerat, Oman.
This is the second match of Nepal in the Super Six. In the first match held on Sunday, Nepal defeated the UAE by a slim margin of 1 run.
Nepal is currently second in the points table of Super Six, with 4 points after collecting 2 points from the last group match against Japan. It stands behind host Oman that stands first with equal points but better run rate. The UAE is in third position followed by Japan, Samoa and Qatar.
Nepal will play against Oman on Wednesday, which may decide Nepal's fate in the next year's world cup. The top two from among the six qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka, from February to March, 2026.
Today's match between Nepal and Qatar is scheduled to begin at 20:45 Nepali Standard Time. In the last three matches held between the two sides, Nepal has won two and Qatar has won one match. (RSS)
