By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct 10: An international conference on advanced technique of kidney removal, Mini PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy), is going to be held on October 11 and 12 (Saturday and Sunday) in Kathmandu.
The
conference is being organised by Khadki Institute of Endourology (Aarush Lifestyle Hospital ) in the presence
of more than 200 specialist doctors from 40 countries across the globe.
According to
Dr. Sanjay Khadgi, Medical Director of the Khadki Institute of Endourology and
a senior urologist, this is the first-ever international conference in Nepal
focusing on the Mini PCNL technique. The main goal of the conference is skill
exchange and professional collaboration among participants.
According to
Khadgi, live surgeries will be performed on 14 kidney stone patients during the
conference.
He said,
“From two operation theatres of the hospital, kidney stones will be removed
using the Mini PCNL technique. Participants of the conference will be able to
watch the live surgeries in real-time, and simultaneous discussions will be
held on the surgical procedures.”
