Diplomatic missions urged to inform about the major change in Nepal

Kathmandu, Oct 8: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has instructed the Nepali ambassadors and heads of all Nepali diplomatic missions to inform the respective countries about the major change in the country.     

During a virtual meeting with the heads and representatives of Nepali diplomatic missions abroad today, she instructed that the concerned countries and stakeholders be informed about the major changes that have taken place in Nepal, shared Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri.     

In addition, Prime Minister Karki called to coordinate necessary measures to garner the support of foreign governments and organizations required in the context of the upcoming elections slated for March 5, 2026.     

Referring to the decline in tourism and other activities since the September 8 and 9 protests, she instructed the Nepali diplomats and agencies to inform people that Nepal is now back to normal, open and economic activities have resumed.     

During the address, Prime Minister Karki emphasized the need to widely publicize the matter to all relevant locations, all governments and stakeholders soon.     

On a different note, the Prime Minister urged the Chief of Missions to provide efficient, fast and technology-friendly services to address the expectations of millions of Nepalis living abroad since the major recent change in the country. She also urged for necessary publicity regarding the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund set up by the government to garner financial support for much-needed reconstruction of the country, shared Spokesperson Chhetri.(RSS)
