Blocked Katari-Ghurmi road reopens

Gaighat (Udayapur), Oct 7: Traffic services have resumed on the Katari-Ghurmi section of the Siddhicharan route, which had been obstructed due to a landslide triggered by persistent rainfall. 

Traffic had been halted on this road since the landslide occurred last Friday evening. As per the Katari Area Police Office, the landslide was cleared with the collaborative efforts of the road department, police, and local community members. 

Starting Monday, traffic has been operating from Mirchaiya in Siraha through Katari-Ghurmi to Okhaldhunga-Khotang, as reported by Kamal Bajgain, the chief of the Katari Area Police Office. 

He also mentioned that vehicle movement on this route remains restricted during the night. (RSS)
