Kathmandu, Oct 6: The vehicular movement in 18 road sections along different highways across the country was obstructed following the flooding and landslides, the Nepal Police Headquarters confirmed.
In Sankhuwasabha district, the Koshi Highway was blocked due to the landslides in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 and Makalu Rural Municipality-3.
Spokesperson of Nepal Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Binod Ghimire said that the Siddicharan Highway at Manebhangyang Rural Municipality is fully obstructed in Okhaldhunga district and the Daldale section of the same highway is also blocked at Katari Municipality-14 in Udayapur district.
Likewise, the Mid-Hill Highway is blocked at Dhikure in Pakhribas Municipality-5, Dhankuta and the Koshi Highway is blocked at Sagurigadhi Rural Municipality in Dhankuta, while the Mechi Highway is obstructed due to landslides at different areas in Ilam Municipality-9, Ilam.
Furthermore, the traffic is off along the Nepal-China Friendship Bridge in Rasuwa's Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2 and four other sites including Syaphrubensi of the same rural municipality, according to police.
Police stated that the Araniko Highway is obstructed at Charkilo of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk and the BP Highway at Mamtikhola of Roshi Rural Municipality-11 in Kavre district.
DIG Ghimire stated that different road sections in Makawanpur district including the Kanti Highway and the Kulekhani-Dakshinkali road section are blocked due to the rain-induced disasters.
The police also shared that the Mid-Hill Highway at Phikkal Rural Municipality-6 and the BP Highway at Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli district are obstructed following the landslides at different sites.(RSS)
