By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept.18: Public vehicles suffered the unimaginable disaster due to the arson that occurred on Tuesday, September 9, during the Gen Z movement.

A study conducted on a provincial basis by various agencies and reporters from Gorkhapatra found that more than 3,000 vehicles have been torched to ashes.

Across all seven provinces, 1,026 four-wheelers, large and small, and 1,983 motorcycles/scooters have been destroyed by fire. This number is only preliminary.

Small four-wheelers include cars, jeeps, and vans, while large ones include dozers, loaders, and fire engines. Three-wheelers have also been burned in the Sudur Paschim Province.

Government structures at the federal, provincial, and local levels are assessing the actual damage, but it is difficult to calculate it when buildings and documents have also been destroyed by fire.

It will take a long time for the real details to come out.

Earlier, Gorkhapatra had published a report in its September 16 issue that 1,041 vehicles, including 440 four-wheelers and 601 two-wheelers, has been destroyed in arson attacks on government offices in and around the main administrative center, Singha Durbar.

That is also a rough estimate derived from the method mentioned above.

According to both reports, 1,467 vehicles and 2,584 motorcycles/scooters has been destroyed by fire. It is estimated that this number will increase in the overall report.

The table below presents data collected by Gorkhapatra from various government offices on a provincial basis, as well as data derived from on-site observations by our reporters.
