Karnali political leaders acknowledge public frustrations, call for investigation into arson and vandalism

Karnali, Sept 16: Political leaders from Karnali Province have called for a fair and impartial investigation into the recent incidents of theft, arson, vandalism, and looting that occurred during the Gen Z-led demonstrations. They also acknowledged growing public frustration particularly among the youth towards the functioning of the state.

In a joint statement issued today, Karnali Province Chief Minister and CPN (UML) leader Yamlal Kandel, along with Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, urged all political parties to recognize their shortcomings and be open to self-correction.

They admitted that previous efforts to understand and respond to the growing frustrations among the public had been insufficient. (RSS)
