Those killed in Gen Z protest declared martyrs, Rs. 1mln relief to family

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 14: The government has decided to
declare those killed during the Gen Z protest on September 8 and 9 as martyrs
and provide a million rupees as relief to the family of the martyr while
ensuring free treatment to the injured.
Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal informed that Prime Minister Sushila
Karki made the decision to this effect while assuming the office.
According to the chief secretary, the number of deaths in the protest
has reached 72 with 59 protesters, 10 inmates in prison and three security
personnel. 151 individuals that include 134 demonstrators and 57 police
personnel are under treatment in different hospitals.
