Kathmandu, Sept.11: Of the 1,368 people injured during the two-day protest that was held on Monday and Tuesday, 949 have returned home after treatment.
According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr Prakash Budhathoki, 949 people have been discharged after treatment so far.
321 people are currently undergoing treatment at 41 different hospitals across the country. Of the injured, 35 have undergone surgery.
Of the 442 injured admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment, 21 underwent surgery. Of the 161 injured admitted to the national Trauma Center, 11 underwent surgery. Similarly, three of the nine injured at Narayani Hospital underwent surgery.
The death toll has reached 34.
Ministry spokesperson Dr Budhathoki said that the highest number of deaths was at the National Trauma Center, with eight people dying. Similarly, six people died at the Civil Hospital, and three each at Everest Hospital and Frontline Hospital.
Two people died at Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal. Similarly, two have died at Vayodha Hospital and one at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
Similarly, five people died at Bheri Hospital outside Kathmandu Valley, two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, one at BNC Hospital Birtamod, and one at Birta City Hospital.
