Death toll reaches 30 in hospitals; over 1000 injured receiving treatment

Kathmandu, Sept 10: The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that so far 30 individuals have died and over 1,000 injured during the Gen Z violent protests have been provided with treatment in different hospitals. 

Secretary at the Ministry Dr. Bikas Devkota informed that there have been 30 deaths and 1,061 treatments in 29 hospitals across the country. He further said that the ministry has disclosed the details obtained after contacting various hospitals. 

The number of deaths and injuries pertains to the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z protests. The death toll includes six at the Civil Service Hospital, eight at the National Trauma Centre, three at the Everest Hospital, two at the Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, one at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, three at Frontline Hospital, two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, and five at Bheri Hospital. 

Currently, 274 injured individuals are receiving treatment. Similarly, 56 individuals have been referred from one hospital to another, and 719 individuals have returned home after treatment.

According to the secretary, currently, 48 injured are being treated at the Civil Service Hospital, 58 at the Trauma Centre, 20 at the Bir Hospital, 25 at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, 24 at Kathmandu Medical College, and 26 at Birendra Military Hospital. (RSS)
