Kathmandu, Sept. 5: World Link has announced that it has shut down unregistered social media platforms in Nepal.
Issuing a public notice on Friday morning, Nepal Telecommunications Authority said that the platforms have been closed in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court, the decision taken by Council of Ministers on September 4, and the directives issued under the Directive for Managing the use of Social Media Networks, 2023.
However, Ncell said that other registered social media platforms, including TikTok, Viber, and others,will remain active.
