By Naurate Nepali, Sinja (Jumla), Sept 1: As many as 20 trucks laden
with apples have been stranded on the way as the in the Karnali Highway has completely
been obstructed due to landslides for the last three days.
The landslides that occurred on August 30 at Gaganekhola in Kalikot
Shubhakalika Rural Municipality-1 along the Karnali Highway.
Efforts are underway to blast the stone boulders obstructing the road
as the breaker has not been able to break it.
Yam Sharma, assistant sub-inspector of Nepal Police office at Nagma,
said referring to the records that in the last three days 20 trucks laden with
apples from Jumla have headed towards Surkhet, but stranded on the way due to
landslides. The trucks are estimated to be carrying 709 quintals of apples,
costing millions of rupees.
