RSP to field Lekhjung Thapa for Rupandehi-3 by-election

Kathmandu, Aug 31: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the fourth largest party in the parliament, has decided to field Lekhjung Thapa as its candidate in the upcoming by-election for Rupandehi constituency no 3.     

The by-election in the constituency is scheduled for November 3.     

The meeting of the RSP central secretariat convened on Sunday decided to nominate Thapa as the candidate for the election.     

According to RSP Acting President Dol Prasad Aryal, Thapa was selected on the basis of the preliminary election within the party to nominate the candidate. Earlier, the party had weighed in nine prospective candidates, informed party Spokesperson Manish Jha.(RSS)
