21 injured in city bus accident in Pokhara

By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath, Aug.25:Twenty-one people sustained injuries when a city bus met with an accident in Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski, around 9:45 AM on Monday. 

Bus (Ga1 Kha 4027) en route from Arba to Pokhara met with an accident, injuring 21 people. 

All the injured were immediately rescued and taken to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment following the accident. 

 Eleven of the injured have been discharged, while the treatment of the remaining injured is underway. 

Hari Bahadur Basnet, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kaski, said that the police have taken 42-year-old city bus driver Tej Bahadur Magar, into custody.

"Four people were moderately injured and others sustained minor injuries in the accident," Basnet said. "It appears bus lost control on the downhill road. Investigations into the cause of accident is underway."

Deputy Superintendent of Police Basnet said that there were more than 30 passengers on board and the rest of the passengers are safe.
