Doctor of Malangwa Hospital assulted, non-emergency services closed

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, July 23: A doctor has been assaulted at the Provincial Hospital Malangwa, the headquarters of Sarlahi. 

OPD services at the hospital have been closed since Tuesday following the assault on the doctor.

Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Dr. Sanjeev Singh, demanded legal action against the culprits and informed that all services at the hospital except emergency services have been closed.

Relatives of a patient, hailing from Malangwa, who had come to the hospital for treatment of a broken bone attacked orthopedic surgeon Dr Krishna Jung Sah over the issue of referring him elsewhere on Monday night. 

Doctors and other health workers working at the hospital have been halting non-emergency services for two days, demanding immediate arrest and action against those who assaulted Dr Sah.

Nepal Medical Association has issued a press release demanding immediate arrest and action against the person who assaulted the doctor.

Patients who came to the hospital for treatment have been affected by the closure of the OPD service at Malangwa Hospital.
