Kathmandu, July 11: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has said around 260 megawatt electricity has been disconnected from the national transmission system (NTS) due to recent Rasuwa flood.
In today's meeting of the National Assembly, Minister Khadka tabled a proposal seeking consideration on Water Resources Bill, 2081 received from the House of Representatives with message. The meeting unanimously passed the proposal.
Before tabling the proposal, Minister Khadka mentioned that around 260 megawatt electricity was disconnected from national transmission system after the flood in Rasuwa occurred on Tuesday damaged hydropower projects and other structures operated at Trishuli river corridor.
Power production of the 111-megawatt Rasuwagadhi hydropower project, 22-megawatt Chilime hydropower project, 21-megawatt Trishuli hydropower project and 14-megawatt Devighat hydropower project has been obstructed due to the flood.
He shared that as per the preliminary conclusion that the flood from Lende stream in Rasuwa was caused by a supraglacial lake outburst in China.(RSS)
