By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 8: The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Kathmandu, in collaboration with GATE College, organized a cultural and educational event titled “Exploring UAE for Higher Education and Technology” at the GATE College Auditorium.
The program aimed to strengthen bilateral ties through cultural exchange and to inform Nepali students and professionals about academic and technological opportunities in the UAE. Attendees included university faculty, students, journalists, editors, diplomats, and representatives from various academic institutions.
The event began with the symbolic lighting of the lamp of knowledge by the UAE Ambassador to Nepal Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Alshamsi and Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ramesh Paudel, an esteemed academic and economist. This was followed by a traditional Nepali dance performance by GATE College students, adding vibrant cultural flavor to the occasion.
In his remarks, the UAE Ambassador emphasized the deep-rooted diplomatic and cultural ties between the two nations, highlighting the importance of culture in building bridges beyond borders. He also introduced the UAE Embassy’s educational presentation, which showcased higher education systems, scholarship opportunities, and innovation prospects in the UAE.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ramesh Paudel praised the initiative and underscored the importance of international academic exposure and collaboration.
The event featured a Q&A session, moderated by GATE College faculty, where students actively interacted with Embassy officials to learn about study and research prospects in the UAE. A feedback questionnaire was distributed and collected to gauge participants’ responses.
The event concluded with a group photo and networking lunch, encouraging informal discussions and future collaboration.
Participants responded positively, with many expressing keen interest in pursuing academic opportunities in the UAE. Media representatives were present, and coverage is expected in major national dailies.
The event marked a successful step toward enhancing academic cooperation and cultural diplomacy between Nepal and the UAE.
