Kshetra Pratap Smriti Sahitya Puraskar goes to Sarubhakta

By Our Correspondent,Tanahun, June 30: The Kshetra Pratap Smriti Sahitya Puraskar, established in memory of poet Kshetra Pratap Adhikary, who was born in Tanahun, has been awarded to renowned literary figure Sarubhakta.

The award was presented on Sunday by Geetal Pratishthan Nepal and Natak Manch Tanahun. 

According to Manch Chairperson Akash Adhikari, the award was given to honour Sarubhakta’s significant contribution to the advancement of Nepali literature. 

The Kshetra Pratap Smriti Sahitya Puraskar carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

Although the award was originally scheduled to be presented on April 12, the Kshetra Pratap Memorial Day, Sarubhakta was unable to attend due to special circumstances. 

Therefore, it was presented during a two-day Gandaki Province-level ‘Pragya Nari Kavya Goshti’ held in Damauli, the district headquarters, on Saturday and Sunday. 

The event was organised by the Literature and Poetry Department of the Nepal Academy and co-organised by Geetal Pratishthan Nepal and Natak Manch Tanahun.

The award, which included a certificate of honour and a cash prize, was jointly presented by Pratishthan Chairperson Balhari Adhikari, Akash Adhikari, and scholar Baba Basnet.
