Husband, wife jump off cliff; wife dies, husband injured

Chitwan, June 25: A husband and wife jumped off a cliff in Chitwan, which claimed the life of wife while husband sustained injuries.

42-year-old Kumari Praja of Rapti Municipality -4, died after jumping off a cliff on Tuesday. 

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of Chitwan District Police Office, Kumari jumped into the Khahare River from a cliff near her home due to a domestic dispute with her husband.

Soon after, her husband, Leela Bahadur, also jumped off the cliff. 

"Kumari died on the spot and her husband, Leela Bahadur Praj, received serious injuries," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Khanal.

He is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital. 

Police said that an investigation into the incident is underway.
