Upcoming FY's budget is balanced, PM says

Kathmandu, June 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has argued that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year is balanced to the maximum extent possible.     

Responding to the queries of House of Representatives (HoR) members in Tuesday's HoR meeting, Prime Minister Oli assured to maintain balance in the budget allocation in the coming days, adding that all lawmakers cannot be made content due to a lack of sufficient capacity of the state.     

"We need prompt and wider development, but the budget is limited. So, all lawmakers could not remain satisfied with the budget. Attention will be paid in the coming days to maintain balance between demand and supply," the PM said, answering the questions of lawmakers in the budget allocation for the Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers and its line agencies.     

The Prime Minister argued that Nepal needs investment from the private sector as well as FDI to maintain a balance between demand and supply. "The need, analysis and planning for the investment would be made from the Investment Board of Nepal," Prime Minister Oli added.     

The Prime Minister also urged the stakeholders not to make trivial comments in parliament to weaken democracy and nationality, adding that parliament is a platform to translate people's sacrifices, struggles and dreams into reality.     

Prime Minister Oli said that the government would work for the constitution's amendment to further strengthen this system. He also called for further strengthening this system and the constitution, and stated that any sort of disrespect to the martyrs' and people's sacrifices and this system was intolerable. (RSS)
