Three arrested in possession of more than 2,000 kilograms of marijuana

Dharan (Sunsari), June 17: Police have arrested three people with 2,100 kilograms of marijuana from the Dharan-Tarhara road in Tarhara, Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-20.

Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sunsari, Suman Kumar Timalsina said that while inspecting a truck (Na 5 Kha 6116), police seized 70 bags of marijuana that were found hidden among 48 bags of cabbage and 12 bags of potatoes this morning. 

Police have taken into custody the 32-year-old truck driver Rajendra Rai of Dhankuta Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality -6, 33-year-old Sunil Rai, a passenger in the truck, and 34-year-old Suman Rai of Barahachhetra Municipality -9, Sunsari, and have seized the marijuana.

He said that the Area Police Office, Ttahari, has launched an investigation against them for drug-related offenses.
