Mock drill in Kendriya Vidyalaya

By Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, June 16: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) has conducted a earthquake rescue drill in Kathmandu today. 

The drilling was conducted in consortium among students and teachers in school compound for preparing them ready to face the earthquake disaster. 

The school principal A. Jerald said that these kinds of events are being held every year to prepare students to deal with disaster like fire, earthquake and to inform them about way to take measure during  search and rescue operation.

Jerald said, “We are in very sensitive location in term of earthquake vulnerability, so this is a preparation to acquaint them how to take safety measure and participate in rescue operation by involving them in the drilling”.   

The drilling trainer Aadesh Kumar Saini said that protection of head is crucial during disaster so drilling mainly focuses on protection of head.  

Another drilling trainer Raj Shekhar said that protection of head is crucial as it could reduce the damage. 

The participants were students from class 1 to class 12 including doctors, teachers, and staff.
