By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 10: The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal hosted a reception to celebrate National Day of Russia today.
Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav attended the reception as the Chief Guest.
In the reception organized by Ambassador of Russian Federation to Nepal, Aleksei A. Novikov, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Pant, parliamentarians, Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel, heads and officials of diplomatic missions in Kathmandu, former ministers, high-ranking officials of the Nepal government and media professionals were present.
In his address, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Nepal, Aleksei A. Novikov, highlighted the key areas of Russian-Nepali cooperation, noting the productive and mutually beneficial nature of bilateral interaction in the fields of energy, education, tourism, culture and humanitarian exchanges. Special attention was given to global affairs, with the Ambassador emphasizing Russia’s constructive role in international matters, referring to the key positions and assessments recently voiced by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The evening’s special atmosphere was enriched by the performance of the Russian folk musicians invited from Russia from the Nekrasov Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments of the Orpheus Broadcasting Center, specially invited from Russia. The audience enthusiastically received their lively renditions of famous songs such as “Kalinka,” “Katyusha,” “Dorogoi Dlinnoyu,” and others. A true highlight of the evening was the joint performance of the ensemble together with the Kathmandu Youth Orchestra of the legendary “Moscow Nights,” which earned resounding applause from the audience.
