By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 9: Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, has said that art exhibitions are the proof that Nepal is rich in art.
While observing the National Fine Art Exhibition at Nepal Academy of Fine Arts on Sunday, Dahal said that one does not need to travel across the entire country, artworks, talent, and potential from all over Nepal have been showcased in the exhibition.
“If we can connect art and culture with tourism, the country can take a significant leap forward. Promoting and developing art will lead to the growth of tourism, generate income for Nepal, and create employment opportunities,” he added.
Stating that all of these aspects need to be managed properly, NA Chair Dahal said, adding that the main issue is management.
"If we work on promoting art and culture in an organised way, it can yield great results,” he said.
“Fine arts are our heritage. Please continue efforts to raise awareness among the Nepali people about its importance and necessity. I will provide all the support I can in that regard.”
The exhibition featured artworks selected from all seven provinces through the “Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition 2081.”
The exhibition featured over 650 artworks from 605 artists, selected through the ‘Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition 2081.’
The exhibition, which began on May 29 runs until June 13, features a wide range of fine art genres and highlights special participation of ethnic arts from Tharu, Awadhi, Mithila, Newar, Pahadi, Bhojpuri, Tamang, Raute, Dom, Rai, and Kirat communities.
