Bakar Eid greetings

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 8: President Ramchandra Paudel has extended his best wishes on the occasion of the festival of Bakar Eid (Eid-ul-Adha).

In a statement issued on the occasion on Saturday, President Paudel wished happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepali Muslims living in Nepal and abroad.

He said that the festival encourages the Muslim community to let go anger, hatred, and disputes and share joy, goodwill, and best wishes. 

On this day, the Muslims gather in open spaces, eidgahs, or mosques to perform the Eid-ul-Azha prayers and celebrate with joy, embracing one another and exchanging greetings.

The President also expressed hope that such festivals, which carry the message of faith, dedication, and social service, would help promote mutual harmony, tolerance, reconciliation, unity, brotherhood and coexistence among the diverse religious and cultural communities of Nepalis around the world. This, he said would contribute to the preservation, promotion, and development of their unique cultures and traditions.

He further stated his belief that unity in diversity strengthens national sentiment and helps promote the values of brotherhood and equality.

President Paudel concluded by extending his best wishes for the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, expressing hope that it would inspire national unity, tolerance, and goodwill among all Nepalis thereby contributing to building a prosperous and progressive society.

Likewise, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav also greeted the followers of Islam religion on the occasion.

In his message issued on Saturday, Vice President Yadav said that the festival of Eid-ul-Azha may inspire to build a civilised, peaceful and prosperous society by strengthening and consolidating the feeling of national unity and cultural solidarity.

“May this festival inspire all of us to strengthen the federal republic system, social justice, national independence, national unity, national integration and nationality,” the Vice President said in his message.
