Janakpurdham, June 6: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that Janakpurdham is religiously and culturally important place.
Inaugurating a newly constructed Maithili Bhawan by the Maithili Development Trust at Janakpurdham-8 today, NC President Deuba noted that the religious site has contributed to enhancement of Indo-Nepal relations.
On the occasion, NC leader and former Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula reminded that the current constitution empowered all ethnic groups and communities in a bid to recognize and preserve their religion and culture.
NC Deputy General Secretary Mahendra Yadav expressed the view that everyone’s cooperation is necessary to enhance the dignity and importance of Mithila culture.
Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Satish Kumar Singh, emphasized that Janakpur has been linked to civilization and culture since ancient period, so it needs connection to religious tourism.
The Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Development in Madhes Province, Saroj Yadav, stated that the ministry had investment in enhancing the purpose, identity and dignity of this institution.
Chairman of the Mithila Development Trust, Jivanath Chaudhary, former Minister of Madhesh Province Ramsaroj Yadav and leader of the Nepali Congress Madhesh Province parliamentary party, Krishna Yadav, among others were present in the inauguration.
The building has 30 rooms and a meeting hall.
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure of Madhes Province had allocated Rs 70.5 million for the construction of the building.(RSS)
