No budget for railways although Rs. 152Bln allocated for physical infrastructure

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 29: The government has allocated Rs. 152 billion for physical infrastructure ministry for the upcoming fiscal year.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel made this announcement while presenting the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year of 2025/026 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament today.

Although the finance minister talked about finalizing the detailed project report (DPR) of the Kathmandu-Kerung railway and some steps to be taken for East-West Railway, he did not mention any specific amount of budget allocated for the railway sector during the budget speech.
