By Pratik Sharma, Salyan, May 28: The traffic on the Rapti Highway has resumed.
The Rapti Highway, which was blocked due to a landslide in Chor Khola, Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3, following heavy rainfall last night, has resumed.
The landslide that occurred at around 4:40 AM on Wednesday covered both lanes of the highway, leaving hundreds of passengers and vehicles stranded on both sides.
JCB from a construction contractor used in the Rapti Highway Upgradation Project was used to clear the landslip debris for machinery from the Department of Road did not arrive on time.
DSP Keshar Neupane of the District Police Office, Salyan, said that the road has been fully operational after about three hours of efforts.
Police said that although an alternative motor route has been used for small vehicles, the route is currently open to all types of vehicles.
