By Rajan Rawat, Humla, May 26: A technical team that went to study the floods and landslides that occurred in Til village of Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Humla district, has succeeded in reaching the Kanji Himal.
The expert team set off on foot from Til village on Sunday morning and reached the mountain in the afternoon.
Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey said that the team reached the place where the glacier lake is located, at an altitude of 5,350 meters, and studied it.
He said that the study team has found three lakes in the place where two were previously seen.
He said that the team has succeeded in reaching the destination. Further details will be included in the report.
The study team includes a Senior Civil Engineer at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Sushil Kumar Shrestha, Senior Divisional Geologist from the Department of Mines and Geology, and Sauhard Joshi, Hydrologist Engineer of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
A local also participated in the expedition.
32 families of eighteen households got displaced after a flood and landslide struck Tilgaun in ward 6 of Namkha Rural Municipality, Humla district, on May 15, according to local authorities.
