GC bids farewell to Consulting Editor Maharjan

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 25: Gorkhapatra Corporation has bade farewell to its Consulting Editor Upesh Maharjan.

Journalist Upesh Maharjan was appointed as the Consulting Editor of the Gorkhapatra Corporation by a decision of the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 26 May 2023, and the farewell was organised as he completed his two-year tenure.

Executive Chairman of the Gorkhapatra Corporation Bishnu Prasad Subedi and General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi presented a token of love to Consulting Editor Maharjan amidst a special farewell function which was attended by chiefs of different departments of the corporation.

Discussing about his relation and cooperation with Consulting Editor Maharjan, Chairman Subedi appreciated him as a gentleman and creative person.

GM Airi was of the view that Consulting Editor Maharjan has become very successful and a role model as to how one can reach the top levels fro within the corporation by working hard for many years.

Consulting Editor Maharjan worked in the Gorkhapatra Corporation for nearly 18 years- as a journalist for nearly 16 years and as Consulting Editor for two years.

Thanking the corporation management and employees for organising farewell meeting Consulting Editor Maharjan highlighted his emotional bond with the corporation which got built after working for nearly 18 years. He lauded the corporation as a museum and school of Nepali journalism.

Junar Babu Basnet, acting chief editor of Gorkhapatra Daily, digital department chief Naradmuni Gautam, planning department chief Bhagirath Basnet and chairman of Nepal National Employee Organisation 2063, Gorkhapatra Corporation, Bishnu Prasad Khanal also spoke highly of Maharjan’s contribution to the corporation both as a journalist and as Consulting Editor.
