NEA employee dies after being electrocuted in electric pole

 By Raju Lamichhane, Rukum(West), May 23: An employee of Nepal Electricity Authority (NRA) who climbed a pole to repair electricity in Rukum (West) died after being electrocuted. 

District Police Office, Rukum (West) said that 29-year-old Khim Bahadur Khadka, of Sisne Rural Municipality-3 in Rukum (East), died of electrocution. 

According to the Information Officer of the District Police Office, Police Inspector Rishi Pathak, Khadka was electrocuted while climbing a pole during an electrical repair in Boharagaun, Musikot Municipality-4 on Thursday night. 

Khadka is said to be working at the Nepal Electricity Authority's Rukum (West) distribution center.

Khadka, who was climbing a pole to repair the power outage in Rukumpur, died on the spot. 

Police Inspector Pathak said that Khadka was electrocuted when he touched a wire of the Solabang Micro Hydropower Project located near the central transmission line.

Khadka's body has been brought to the District Hospital, Salle, for a postmortem.
